Happy New Year from the 3rd Step Ministry Team!
The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” Lamentations 3:22-24 (NASB)
May we remember in 2014 each new day is a gift from God and his unfailing love never ends. Our hope and our trust in Him will bring us great rewards.
Can you believe it? We are already preparing and planning for our October 2014 event! As I reflect back on the last year, I am excited and expectant for what this year will bring. God did such amazing things in 2013 within 3rd step. It is such a rush to experience God move in magnificent ways through the lives of others. We cannot manifest Him in your life. Only He can make himself known to you and we believe He did, we heard various testimonies about that day. It is our desire to bring hope and purpose into the lives of women who have been damaged by the schemes of the enemy for our souls. We love you and we pray for you often.
The theme of our 2013 event was “Be strong, be courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”Joshua 1:9. Our prayer is whatever way God met you, you now know from your experience that He is always with you wherever you go. As I sat in the audience with you ladies from different backgrounds and cultures who struggle with various addictions, I was keenly aware of His presence. He was there. He is always there. He is God! He moved among the dancers, the worship and our guest speaker. His love was piercing the room and our hearts. Remember? He is here right now, He is with us always. Be strong, Be courageous, Believe!
As I thought about the message… to be strong means difficult to break and durable, to be courageous is having the ability to face danger without fear. Addicts have had to be durable and courageous through some very dark circumstances, even if we created them. In addiction we are always fearful, even when we pretend not to be. God is talking conquering fear, about a different kind of strength and courage. God is saying we can be strong and courageous because of Him. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, situations can be difficult BUT He is with us. Throughout times of addiction, hardship and even in sobriety you may not sense His presence, but He is there. He’s not a feeling, He is God, and He is always present. He wants you to know Him, He knows you. When things don’t seem to work out the way you want, trust God anyway and believe God is with YOU where ever you go.
May God bring great and wonderful healing into our lives in 2014, see you soon!
